Con­cord Com­mu­nity Cin­ema

The Clas­sic Film Club’s new sea­son be­gins with Hitch­cock’s ‘To Catch A Thief’ (1955) with Cary Grant and Grace Kelly at 7.30pm on Fri­day, Fe­bru­ary 17, in the Con­cord Com­mu­nity Cen­tre. Guest tick­ets are £3. Al­ter­na­tives cafe be­fore and af­ter the show. Mem­ber­ship for the new sea­son of five clas­sic films for Fe­bru­ary-June is avail­able at £10.

Bal­loch Ac­cor­dion and Fid­dle Club

The Fe­bru­ary club night will take place on Sun­day, Fe­bru­ary 19, in St Kes­sogs Hall, Bal­loch, at 7.30pm. Guest artists will be The Paul Ca­paldi Duo. Tea, cof­fee and bis­cuits are avail­able at the in­ter­val plus a bar and raf­fle. Play­ers and non-play­ers are wel­come.

Mar­ket day

On Sun­day, Fe­bru­ary 19, there will be a mar­ket day at Loch Lomond Shores with lo­cal pro­duce from the Farm­ers Mar­ket, Ar­ti­san Craft Mar­ket, food and drink plus live mu­sic from noon to 4pm. The mar­ket is open from 10am.


Fri­day lunches have re­sumed in St Au­gus­tine’s Com­mu­nity Hall in Dum­bar­ton from noon un­til 1pm.

Messy Church

The event will be held on Satur­day, Fe­bru­ary 25, from 4pm to 5.30pm at River­side Par­ish Church, Dum­bar­ton. The theme this time is an­cient Egyp­tians. Chil­dren of all ages are wel­come but must be ac­com­pa­nied by an adult. Ac­tiv­i­ties will in­clude crafts, games, cake dec­o­rat­ing and paint­ing. It fin­ishes with shar­ing food, a story and some singing.

Bon­hill Se­nior Cit­i­zens As­so­ci­a­tion

The group is hold­ing a mu­sic af­ter­noon for all mem­bers on Tues­day, Fe­bru­ary 28, at 1pm.

Age Con­cern Vale of Leven

A con­cert will be held on Wed­nes­day, Fe­bru­ary 22, in Alexan­dria Leisure Cen­tre at 1pm. New mem­bers are wel­come.

Vale Guild

The Vale of Leven Townswomen’s Guild are hold­ing an evening of mu­sic with Brats and Cal­lets (mem­bers of the City of Glas­gow Cho­rus). It is in aid of lo­cal char­i­ties and will be held in Alexan­dria Par­ish Church on March 11 at 7.30pm. Tick­ets cost £10 and in­clude a light sup­per af­ter the con­cert. Mu­sic for Life

The mu­sic group is for any­one aged 18 to 80 who would like to meet up with other mu­si­cians and make mu­sic to­gether. Be­gin­ners’ lessons can be of­fered. £2 weekly. The All­sorts (CAFU) Choir re­quire ad­di­tional male mem­bers. No au­di­tion, no bar­ri­ers, no age limit. Vol­un­teers wanted

The Royal Vol­un­tary Ser­vice needs vol­un­teers to help de­liver hot meals to the el­derly in Alexan­dria and Dum­bar­ton. The or­gan­i­sa­tion is seek­ing driv­ers and helpers to take the meals on a reg­u­lar ba­sis be­tween 11am and 1pm.
