Re-vamped li­brary is open again

Bal­loch Li­brary is open again fol­low­ing a £100,000 cash in­jec­tion.

The fa­cil­ity has seen a mas­sive over­haul and has now be­come the first of its kind out­side Glas­gow, of­fer­ing free use of 12 com­put­ers to res­i­dents as well as com­ple­men­taryWi-Fi.

In ad­di­tion, the front en­trance has been re­designed to im­prove ac­cess for all and a public toi­let has been in­stalled for the first time.

Ed­u­ca­tion con­vener Michelle McGinty said: “The newly re­fur­bished li­brary now pro­vides a fan­tas­tic, mod­ern set­ting.”

The li­brary is set to add a Macmil­lan Can­cer Sup­port drop-in ser­vice next month pro­vid­ing those af­fected by can­cer in­for­ma­tion and emo­tional sup­port.
