T-rex at Springfest
Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park is a haven for wildlife, but visitors to Springfest might get more than they bargained for this year.
An 8-foot-tall, 16-foot-long T-rex animatronic will be part of the festival’s packed line up of family-friendly events.
Springfest, the festival celebrating food and drink, takes place on Saturday April 1 and Sunday, April 2 at Loch Lomond Shores.
The dinosaur will be entertaining crowds on the Sunday only, from 12noon to 2pm.
Springfest was first held on the shores of Loch Lomond in 2015.
The festival opens at 10am and closes at 6pm both days.
As well as being thrilled by the ferocious dinosaur, there will also be fun for all the family as kids get to try being mini chefs at the kids tent, there’s a chance to meet the Easter bunny and follow the Spring treasure trail, whilst adults can enjoy the cook demo tent, sponsored this year by Greenergy, throughout the day to pick up tips.
There will also be live music across the festival site from a range of Scottish musicians.
Stuart Williams, marketing assistant for the festival, said: “I think a lot of people are fascinated by dinosaurs, so this should be an exciting addition to this year’s Springfest.
“We’ve had an amazing response so far online, so it looks like festivalgoers are looking forward to getting up close and personal with the T-rex, too.We can’t wait.”
