Lomond up their game for victory

Lennox Herald - - READER TRAVEL -

Loch Lomond had only one team in action this weekend and managed to secure another three points and a fabulous 2-0 victory over Broomhill.

The match began evenly contested with the opposition making some early runs into the defensive half. However, with this in mind, Loch Lomond quickly upped their performance and attacking play and started to dominate against Broomhill.

With the defence playing strong wide balls, Georgina JacksonLeach in midfield made some fantastic runs up the right.

This opened up the game, allowing the strikers to come into play.

Rebecca Lightfoot also made some brilliant one-two passes in Loch Lomond’s attacking half, with Rosie McColgan managing to slot in the first goal of the match nearing the end of half-time.

The second half of the match saw a more composed Loch Lomond team, withVanessa Sabala making some excellent saves in the middle in addition to some great long passes up to the strikers.

Zuby Kofi, skilfully tackled and took out the opposition on the left allowing further balls to be passed to Josie Sclater, who then fired them up to striker McColgan.

Eliza Ritchie dribbled her way up the middle and with some help from the strikers, she managed to get on the scoresheet.

Loch Lomond had some very strong play on Saturday, with some obvious improvements; the team has gelled well and every week, play is more consistent.

Hopefully, Loch Lomond will see further victories in the remaining two matches of the season.
