Run­ners have been in­vited to don their red noses for the an­nual Red Nose Day run.

Or­gan­ised by Bon­hill run­ner Mau­rice Dono­hue and West Dun­bar­ton­shire Ath­let­ics Club, the event will take place on Satur­day, March 25.

Par­tic­i­pants are en­cour­aged to join in the fun and come along in fancy dress or wear­ing a red nose. No money will be taken to take part in the run, but do­na­tions can be made to https://www. red­nose­day.com/

The run is be­ing or­gan­ised in part­ner­ship with the weekly 5k Bal­loch Run ’n’ Park.

The run starts at the main gates of Bal­loch Park at 9.30am on the day and peo­ple of all ages and fit­ness lev­els can take part by walk­ing, jog­ging or run­ning. There is no regis­tra­tion, no fee and no of­fi­cial record­ing of times.

Mau­rice said: “We want fam­i­lies, chil­dren, par­ents and grand­par­ents to join in be­cause it’s all about keep­ing fit, no mat­ter what your age or fit­ness level.

“What we want to do is show the com­mu­nity how easy it is to stay ac­tive and ex­er­cise. We want to en­cour­age fam­i­lies to get out and about and ac­tive, espe­cially when we have such great out­door spa­ces like Bal­loch Park on our doorstep.”

The Bal­loch Run ’n’ Park takes place ev­ery Satur­day. There are 5k and 2k routes.
