Reassurance on fire safety in flats

Lennox Herald - - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR -

I’m writing on behalf of the West Dunbartonshire Tenants and Residents Organisation in relation to West Dunbartonshire Council’s response to fire safety fears in multi-storey flats in the local authority following the tragedy of the Grenfell Tower in London.

Through liaison meetings and emails, senior officers of WDC alongside the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service have given reassurances over the safety of multistorey flats in relation to the cladding used and fire safety procedures.

Much discussion took place in the past several months, with many tenant and residents association representatives sharing tenant and resident concerns.

We thank the council for the prompt response with open discussions and up-to-date information. Harry McCormack, WDTRO
