Scrappy play with Garnock

Lennox Herald - - SPORTS -

Despite a positive start by Loch Lomond, it was Garnock who managed to score two early goals that trickled into the back of the goal after some scrappy play.

Loch Lomond re-grouped and the defence stayed strong. The rest of play in the first half was dominated in the Garnock half with Loch Lomond constantly attacking their goal.

With great work from the midfielders all working together, Georgina Jackson-Leach, Zuby Kofi,Vanesa Sabala and HannahWhite drove the ball forwards with some great passes into opportunistic spaces.

Loch Lomond were awarded a penalty flick andVanesa Sabala stepped up to expertly convert to bring the score to 2-1.

There were some really bright spells, and some shining lights out there.

Sue Monty Aikman gave a solid and stunning performance at the back. HannahWhite was energetic in midfield and caused Garnock trouble all through the match.

Unfortunately a combination of hot weather and no subs meant that Loch Lomond struggled to counter-attack on target in the later stages of the match, despite many opportunities, and, with Loch Lomond hitting the post at one point, it could have been a respectable draw away from home again - but it was not to be.
