No win for rusty Lomond

Lennox Herald - - SPORTS -

Loch Lomond II were a bit rusty at the start of their first match of the season at home to Uddingston III.

With new players, some players in different positions and hot weather, it took the home side the first half of the match before they worked well as a team.

However, within the first 20 minutes of the game, Uddingston managed to score four early goals.

Despite this, Loch Lomond remained determined.

There were some excellent pockets of play and the defence worked tirelessly at the back, with goalkeeper Emma O’Neill protecting her goal well.

Loch Lomond took to the pitch in the second half changed opponents.

The home side were marking players more efficiently and keeping possession of the ball. There was some great play in the Uddingston D which the strikers and midfielders managed to convert into short corners.

Unfortunately, these did not produce a goal. In the last 10 minutes of the game, Uddingston brought the score to 5-0.

Regardless of the end-game score, this was a great first match for Loch Lomond.
