Public meeting to discuss nuclear convoys on roads

Lennox Herald - - NEWS -

A public meeting was held on Monday to discuss the highly controversial issue of nuclear convoys travelling on the Rosneath Peninsula.

Helensburgh CND organised the event, which took place following the publication of Unready Scotland.

This is a report which has been compiled by Nukewatch, a network of individuals who have been campaigning against nuclear warhead convoys travelling along our roads.

The document examines the practicalities of responding to a major incident or accident in a densely populated area involving the convoys.

It also concludes that the relevant civil authorities would be unlikely to be able to cope in the event of a major accident occurring involving these convoys.
