Li­braries Week runs from Mon­day to Satur­day next week.

Na­ture writer Jim Crum­ley will pro­vide an in­sight on his new book ‘The Na­ture of Win­ter’ at Bal­loch Li­brary on Tues­day at 7.30pm.

Res­i­dents can learn about how to re­search their fam­ily his­tory at a work­shop in Dum­bar­ton Li­brary on Wed­nes­day, Oc­to­ber 1, from 10.30am to 4pm.

Staff are also hold­ing ses­sions for res­i­dents to learn how to use ebooks and emagazines as well as ex­plor­ing the uses of 3D print­ing.

Glas­gow Women’s Li­brary’s trav­el­ling gallery bus will be at Dum­bar­ton Li­brary on Oc­to­ber 12.

Bailie De­nis Agnew said: “Li­braries Week is an ideal op­por­tu­nity to high­light the many ser­vices on of­fer and pro­mote them more widely to res­i­dents who may not know or ap­pre­ci­ate ev­ery­thing our mod­ern li­braries have to of­fer.”
