Real scare tactics

Lennox Herald - - INTIMATIONS - Carla Talbot

There was plenty of fun and imagination to go around as families gathered at Ardardan Estate for the annual scarecrow festival last weekend.

The fun-filled event was organised by Ardardan Farm Shop and was entered by schools, groups, businesses and families, who competed to make the best scarecrow.

The imaginative creations were on display on September 23 and 24, allowing people to wander around the woods surrounding the estate 230919SCARECROW_FESTIVAL_020 and vote for their favourite.

The event proved a big success, and staff at Ardardan were delighted with the turnout.

The winning scarecrow was a fantastic robot scarecrow, which was made by four families, including Angus, Seth and Hamish Ritchie; Layla and Lydia Hadi; Poppy, Leo and EvieTaylor and Oliver, Emily, Zoe and LilyWalker.

The group said:“Our robot is made from friendship,The teamwork is the glue. It shows what little hands can make, when your friends work wth you.” 230919SCARECROW_FESTIVAL_009 230919SCARECROW_FESTIVAL_017 230919SCARECROW_FESTIVAL_013
