Bal­loch swim­ming star Ross Mur­doch will de­fend his Com­mon­wealth Games ti­tle when he heads to Aus­tralia for the 2018 Games next year.

Mur­doch – who shot to fame in 2014 af­ter win­ning the gold medal in the 200m breast­stroke event – has been named as one of 31 ath­letes who will head to the Gold Coast .

The 24-year-old will be joined by some of his 2014 team­mates as 13 of the 21 swim­mers hav­ing com­peted for Team Scot­land . Along­side Dan Wal­lace and Hannah Miley, Mur­doch will be hop­ing to cel­e­brate suc­cess yet again fol­low­ing his his­toric ap­pear­ance at the Games al­most four years ago.

Mur­doch fa­mously won gold in the 200m breast­stroke in Glas­gow and has since won a host of medals in­clud­ing gold at the 2016 Euro­pean Aquat­ics Cham­pi­onships and bronze at the 2015World Aquat­ics Cham­pi­onships. He was also part of Team GB at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.
