Ross’ title defence Down Under
Balloch swimming star Ross Murdoch will defend his Commonwealth Games title when he heads to Australia for the 2018 Games next year.
Murdoch – who shot to fame in 2014 after winning the gold medal in the 200m breaststroke event – has been named as one of 31 athletes who will head to the Gold Coast .
The 24-year-old will be joined by some of his 2014 teammates as 13 of the 21 swimmers having competed for Team Scotland . Alongside Dan Wallace and Hannah Miley, Murdoch will be hoping to celebrate success yet again following his historic appearance at the Games almost four years ago.
Murdoch famously won gold in the 200m breaststroke in Glasgow and has since won a host of medals including gold at the 2016 European Aquatics Championships and bronze at the 2015World Aquatics Championships. He was also part of Team GB at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.
