Vale Ju­niors over­turn the deficit

Vale of Leven Ju­niors were in ac­tion at the week­end as they wel­comed Lun­carty to Mill­burn Park for the sec­ond round of the Scot­tish Cup.

It was a suc­cess­ful day for theVale, who cel­e­brated a 3-2 vic­tory de­spite fall­ing be­hind by two goals in the first half.

It took just five min­utes for the vis­it­ing Lun­carty to get ahead through Kieran Don­ald and it was on 35 min­utes that they dou­bled their lead through Dale Smart to put theVale on the back foot.

In the sec­ond half, theVale man­aged to im­prove their per­for­mance, and just two min­utes into the sec­ond half Matthew Devine got theVale on the score­sheet.

Play con­tin­ued with theVale des­per­ately seek­ing an­other goal and on 64 min­utes An­drew Bid­dulph equalised for theVale.

With both sides on level peg­ging, it was into ex­tra time that the win­ner was given their glory, and Ryan Kerr se­cured a spot for theVale on the next round.

The first team will be back to league ac­tion this week­end as they travel to John Cum­ming Sta­dium to play Car­luke Rovers in the Cen­tral League.
