Vale firm short­listed

An Alexan­dria busi­ness has been short­listed for a pres­ti­gious na­tional award recog­nis­ing fam­ily busi­nesses of all sizes and from all sec­tors in Scot­land.

Mclag­gan, which pro­duces mugs and other ceram­ics for the na­tional and in­ter­na­tional mar­ket, has been short­listed for Small/Medium Fam­ily Busi­ness of theYear at­The Scot­tish Fam­ily Busi­ness Awards.

The awards, in as­so­ci­a­tion with Busi­ness Gate­way, will be an­nounced at a cer­e­mony in Glas­gow on De­cem­ber 3.

Mclag­gan was founded in 1974 byWally and Camille Smith as Mclag­gan Smith Prints from their garage in He­lens­burgh.

Since then, the busi­ness has con­tin­ued to grow, and they now em­ploy 25 staff from the lo­cal area at their fac­tory in Jamestown, ship­ping as far as Ja­pan and Aus­tralia.
