Shay says farewell to the Sons
Back in 2015 Stephen Grindlay made his final appearance in Sons colours, as he celebrated his testimonial before leaving Ian Murray’s side.
The Vale born keeper first joined the club backin 2001 from Newcastle United, enjoying six successful seasons at the Rock before moving to Queen of the South in 2007.
A spell at Ayr United followed, before he returned to his local team in 2010 being named in the Second Division Team of the Season in 2012 as he played a key role in the Sons promotion to the Championship.
After 296 appearances, he was released by the club in May 2015 and went on to join Beith Juniors, with whom he won the 2016 Junior Cup.
