Ladies by the sea
Great Yarmouth Racecourse has its Ladies Night on July 19 and Ladies Day on September 21.
BBC Radio Two DJ Sara Cox will be presenting an evening of music for the July evening event. Sara, who hosts Sounds of the ‘80s, on the radio on Saturday nights, has a passion for horses and is hoping to have the crowds dancing after a day of racing fun at the seaside track.
There will also be a new race for female jockeys, in support of Cancer Research UK. Gates open on July 19 at 4pm, with visitors encouraged to dress up for the occasion.
The Ladies Day, on September 21, is part of the course’s most prestigious event of the year, the three- day Eastern Festival which attracts top quality racing. Once again the course becomes a giant fashion show, with the finest summer outfits and hats on parade.
Tickets range from £16 grandstand to special packages costing from £26 to £39. For more information, call 01493 842527 or visit the website www.greatyarmouthracecourse.co.uk
