This elegant 4-star hotel has an excellent central, yet quiet position in the centre of Davos Platz. The hotel has a bar, in indoor swimming pool, saunas, steam bath, whirlpool and minigym. All bedrooms have private facilities as well as safe, telephone, TV, hairdryer, minibar and balcony.
Price includes Day 1: Morning collection from your home to join our coach for the drive to Dover, and short sea crossing to France. We continue our journey to our overnight hotel. Day 2: After breakfast, we continue our journey through the Alsace region of France and crossing the border into Switzerland at Basel. We make our way to Davos and to our hotel. Day 3: We spend the Morning in St Moritz before we board the regional train and follow the trail of the Bernina Express Railway. We enjoy the fantastic journey through the mountains and into Italy. We see lakes, gorges and glaciers as well as a series of loops and tunnels that make this one of Europe’s greatest train journeys. On arrival in Tirano you will have time at leisure before joining the coach and travelling back to Davos by road. Day 4: Today we head to Liechtenstein, the tiny Principality wedged between Switzerland and Austria. We will meet our tour guide who will point out the interesting places and history of this little gem. We then head to the region of Appenzell, for a visit to the famous cheese dairy bearing its name. During the tour, our guide will explain the production, and afterwards we will be able to sample the five most popular varieties of Appenzeller cheese. Day 5: A day at your leisure to use your included “Davos Card” which permits free unlimited use of all local transport and we suggest a trip on the Schwarzalp Mountain Railway where you could visit the Alpine Gardens or maybe take lunch in the panoramic restaurant. (Gardens & Lunch not included). Day 6: Today is another highlight of this tour with a journey following part of the route of the Glacier Express, arguably Switzerland’s most famous train. We travel to Andermatt where we board the train, following the same route as the Glacier Express. This unforgettable journey takes us past legendary mountain peaks, icy blue tongues of glaciers and unspoilt valleys. Day 7: Sadly we bid farewell to Switzerland and begin our journey homeward. We drive through the beautiful Alsace region and break our journey at the popular hillside wine town of Riquewihr, before making our way back to the overnight hotel in the Saarbrucken area.
