An introduction to Let’s Talk
It’s all changing. You may have noticed what is going on around you. Nothing new, just the time of the year. The autumn is upon us and sadly it is often a time when many get a little down.
It won’t be long, just a couple of weeks, until we do that uniquely British thing and ‘alter the clocks’.
‘Spring forward and fall back’, remember how we were all taught that in our schooldays?
Well, we may at the end of the month gain an extra hour in bed on a Sunday morning, but of course it means that before we know it, those of us leaving work around 5.30pm will be travelling home in the dark.
And during the lighter times, we may well be spending lots of hours sweeping away piles of leaves as they fall from the trees.
And, of course, the shops will start to fill with Christmas goods (actually many have already) which often also helps to get us a little depressed.
Certainly those days of the summer heatwave seem a long, long time ago.
But rather than wallow in ‘doesn’t time fly’ we should all look forward and be positive.
We don’t need that much of an excuse for a get-together after all.
There’s November 5 and fireworks just around the corner, a great excuse to wrap up warm, get outside, enjoy some soup and celebrate with friends.
Then comes the big one, Christmas. I don’t care how grumpy or mean you are, you cannot fail to get wrapped up in the festive spirit.
So here at Let’s Talk we are making it our aim to be optimistic and to stay positive by bring you top-class features and all your regular reads as we tackle the autumn and winter together.
