Golden memories of days out on the road
I am 91 and have few opportunities to go out except when my daughter visits me.
My friends bring me magazines and I recently came across an old publication of Let’s Talk dated July 2013.
I read an article about an Austin 1100 car which had fond memories for its owner David Clayton.
I had always wanted to drive and bought a Mini Sprite before I even had driving lessons. I passed my test when I was 60 and enjoyed 17 years of driving.
I loved the car so much and then I bought a blue Mini which I kept until the age of 84.
My grandson sold the car for £400, the same as I paid to buy it. Happy days indeed.
