Bold looks for bathrooms
jazz up your bathing zones with punches of pattern
the tropical trend is picking up pace. those who have already braved jungle fabrics and exotic fruit lamps in their living areas are now embracing a sultry vibe in their bathrooms and the results are just as exciting. this look is a deliberately in-your-face celebration of colour and opulence: palm fronds, birds of paradise and hot caribbean shades. If you’re not ready to commit to patterned permanent fixtures – though House of Hackney’s Foliage collection, which can be printed on to tiles, is hard to resist – go for broke on accessories. Anthropologie ticks off tropical in shower curtains, towels and trinket dishes, while rockett St George is a treasure trove for all things flamingo, pineapple and palm leaf. ‘this trend is all about bringing colour, air and greenery into our homes. Bold, vivid pattern is proving the perfect antidote to sterile, white bathrooms,’ adds Dan cook, designer at cp Hart.
