A new start...

Living France - - NEWS - Vicky Leigh, Deputy Editor

I’ve only been as far as sister title French Property News, but after three years away it’s lovely to be back at Living France, and I’m thoroughly enjoying being part of the team again. I’ve particularly enjoyed exploring the Aude department in this month’s issue (page 18) as this part of France has always held a special appeal for me, and its many attractions were certainly enough to convince one British couple to start a new chapter in the south after nine years in Pas-deCalais (page 28).

Languedoc-Roussillon has a reputation for plentiful sunshine, but you might be surprised to discover just how many other sunny hotspots there are in France – find out on page 46. January is a time for New Year’s resolutions, and if yours is to make 2016 the year you buy a home in France you’ll find a selection of properties for sale for under €150,000 on page 78.

Working on this issue has been a bittersweet experience, as it coincided with the terrible tragedy of the terrorist attacks in Paris. Our thoughts remain with those whose lives were so cruelly cut short, and in times of such great sadness it has been truly encouraging to witness the scale of support and solidarity shown across the world. Turn to page 14 for just a small selection of heartfelt messages. The City of Light has long held a special place in my heart and will continue to do so for many years to come.

Wishing you all a happy and prosperous New Year, and I hope you can join us at The France Show from 29-31 January in London.
