Teams of huskies and their mush­ers will pit their strength against each other and the moun­tains from Jan­uary, when they take part in La Grande Odyssée, a long-dis­tance dog-sled race, which cov­ers 900 miles of chal­leng­ing ter­rain in the French and Swiss Alps. The teams travel from all over Europe for the event. The course, which starts in Samoëns and fin­ishes in Ter­mignon, vis­its 24 ski re­sorts. Used by Rodin as his Paris stu­dio, the mu­seum hasn’t un­der­gone a full ren­o­va­tion since it opened in 1919, so re­quired ex­ten­sive up­dat­ing and a com­plete re­design. Now spread over 18 rooms, the ex­hi­bi­tion dis­plays sev­eral works that were pre­vi­ously in stor­age to ex­plore Rodin’s life and ca­reer.
