Raise a toast

Living France - - News - Vicky Leigh, Deputy Editor

As a team we enjoy putting every issue of Living France together, but this one has been extra special as it marks yet another milestone – our 300th issue. The magazine has come a long way since it first began in 1989, and we take a trip down memory lane on page 13. We also catch up with Susan Hayes, who first appeared in Living France back in 1992, and are happy to report that her love affair with France is still going strong (p44).

Please do join our celebrations by entering our special 300th issue competition to win a week-long luxury barge cruise in Burgundy (details on p14), and don’t miss the chance to subscribe and receive six bottles of wine worth £60 on page 38 – the perfect opportunity to raise a toast with us!

For those just taking their first steps towards their own French adventure, we explore the house-hunting hot spots offering easy access to and from the UK (p22), and if city living appeals to you then where better to experience it than Paris? We reveal some of the French capital’s hidden secrets on page 48. And if you’re moving for the sunshine, we pick six of the best properties with swimming pools on page 80.

If you’re moving to France with children, our expert guide on page 52 explains the French higher education system, and as we move closer to the EU referendum our currency expert considers the possible impact of a Brexit on page 84.

Reaching our 300th issue is an achievement we’re all very proud of, and thank you for sharing the journey with us so far. Here’s to many more issues to come. Santé!
