The kitchen looks set to still be at the heart of Julia Child’s former Provençal home after its new owner revealed her plans to transform the house into a culinary retreat. As reported in the January 2016 issue of Living France, the property went on the market last November for the sum of €880,000, and has been bought by 27-year-old Makenna Johnston from the US, who is also a former Smith College alumni, like Child herself. Keen to continue its cooking heritage, Johnston plans to host a culinary retreat in the property to include cookery classes, excursions to local restaurants and yoga courses. If you’d prefer to cook up a storm in the cooking queen’s kitchen yourself, you could always rent it out on Airbnb from June. sothebysre
