1 Get some in­spi­ra­tion by log­ging onto the Jardins Ou­verts web­site to find lo­cal gar­dens that open to the pub­lic to raise money for char­i­ta­ble or­gan­i­sa­tions in France: open­gar­ 2 Sup­port tall-grow­ing peren­nial plants such as del­phini­ums to avoid hav­ing them flop later in the sea­son. 3 Keep an eye on roses for the fun­gal dis­ease black spot, par­tic­u­larly dur­ing damp weather. Re­move any af­fected fo­liage and de­bris from around the soil. 4 Plant dahlia tu­bers for an au­tumn dis­play.
