No matter how many high-tech games, special-effects films or technological gadgets that come along, sometimes you just can’t beat the appeal of traditional entertainment from days gone by, and what could be more charmingly nostalgic than watching a puppet show? The international event,
Mima Arts de la Marionnette held every year in the medieval town of Mirepoix in Ariège lives up to people’s
expectations for an afternoon of quaint entertainment plus puppet shows on a larger, show-stopping scale. The event that runs from 4-7 August is as popular with adults as it is with children, and there is much more entertainment to be enjoyed when the curtains go down such as face painting, music and street performances. A family pass costs €16 and children under three go free.
