Iprobably shouldn’t admit this, but I’ve never been skiing – despite having the opportunity to do so quite literally on my doorstep when I lived in France. Since coming back to the UK I’ve often regretted not giving it a go, and this month’s feature on Haute-Savoie made me think – yet again – that I really should rectify the situation. (Perhaps I should make it a belated New Year’s resolution.)
The department is home to some of France’s – and indeed the world’s – most famous ski resorts, and yet at the same time it’s definitely not just for winter.
