February in France

Perched on the foothills of the Vaucluse mountains, Gordes is one of Provence’s most impressive villages overlooking the Luberon countryside. Narrow cobblestone streets, known as calades, flanked with white stone houses built into the cliff wind their way around the village centre. Unsurprisingly, Gordes has attracted numerous artists over the years, including André Lhote, Marc Chagall, Victor Vasarely and Flemish-born painter Pol Mara, whose works are displayed in the museum located in Gorde’s château, which sits at the very top of the village. gordes-village.com
