In line with the high alti­tude, win­ters can be very cold and most places get snow, par­tic­u­larly on the higher Causses and Mont Lozère. The pay-off is that sum­mers are not too hot and sticky, usu­ally around 30-35°C max in the shade.

Get­ting there

By plane: With no air­ports in Lozère, the near­est op­tions are Rodez, Mont­pel­lier and Cler­mont-Fer­rand.

By train: Eurostar and TGV/SNCF to Mende via Paris or Lille. By car: Via the A75.
