NEWS IN BRIEF
It was a successful first run for the French Property Exhibition that took place at Newbury racecourse from 17-18 March.
Visitors turned out in force to this first-time event to peruse thousands of the latest properties on the market from estate agents across France, and to attend the programme of free seminars covering topics including taxation, investments and how to make a living in France. One option for employment was presented by exhibitor and sponsor CA Britline, as the French banking company is currently recruiting.
Show exhibitor Samm Khoury from Richard Immobilier said that Brexit grumblings made her underestimate just how popular the show would be. “We didn’t expect it to be busy due to the talk surrounding Brexit, but we were pleasantly surprised at how many serious buyers it attracted and with good budgets, too,” she said following the show.
Jeanne Boden from luxury property developers La Durantie was encouraged to exhibit following a successful weekend at The France Show in January and said that Newbury was every bit as fruitful. “I’m happy with the leads the show has generated,” she said, before adding, “Also, it was great to set up without the hassle of London parking.”
If you’re still looking for your dream home in France, the next property exhibition takes place at Wetherby racecourse in Yorkshire from 12-13 May. Entrance is free and you can register for tickets online at fpeyorkshire.com.
