Hav­ing learned how to cook in France, TV chef James Martin re­turned last year to “re­dis­cover the food des­ti­na­tion that has it all”, for his most re­cent tele­vi­sion series, James Martin’s French Ad­ven­ture. Em­bark­ing on the road trip of a life­time, James bum­bled along French coun­try roads in Keith Floyd’s old 2CV, stop­ping off to ex­plore the best in French cui­sine in ar­eas in­clud­ing Brit­tany, Dor­dogne, Langue­doc and the Pays Basque. Dur­ing his trav­els, the York­shire­man stayed with lo­cal ex­pats who were more than happy to give James, who had re­cently given up 5am week­end starts to host Satur­day Kitchen, a warm wel­come and a taster of French liv­ing at its best. Eat­ing and cook­ing his way around some of the coun­try’s most beau­ti­ful towns and vil­lages, James soon was smit­ten with all that French life has to of­fer...
