SIZING IT UP
If a large living space is at the top of your house-hunting checklist, then you should concentrate your search in the north and northeast of France, according to a new survey from Les Prix Immobiliers.
The survey reveals the average living space in the different regions in France. The region with the largest average living space is Bourgogne-Franche-Comté where a new property has an average space of 90.1m² and an older property has an average of 92.3m².
Nord-Pas-de-Calais (now part of Hauts-de-France) and Alsace (now part of Grand-Est) were also high on the list with an average living space of 77.2m² and 76.9m² respectively.
If you don’t want to be tight for space, it’s best to avoid Paris and the south. Île-de-France had the lowest average of 64.4m² for new properties, while Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur was close behind with an average living space of 65.3m². lespriximmobiliers.com
