A new res­i­den­tial com­plex in the cen­tre of Lori­ent, Brit­tany will com­ple­ment a new high-speed train ser­vice in the city. The new Bre­ton neigh­bour­hood called Lori­ent Odyssée will be de­vel­oped around the city’s train sta­tion where, from July 2017, a new high-speed train line will re­duce the jour­ney to Paris to un­der three hours. The project will com­prise res­i­den­tial build­ings, houses, shops, of­fices and sev­eral green ar­eas. Con­structed from mainly wood, fiber­glass and glass, the de­vel­op­ment will aim to take in en­vi­ron­men­tal con­cerns, in­clud­ing noise pol­lu­tion and en­ergy con­sump­tion. The first block, com­pris­ing 110 dwellings is planned to be com­pleted in 2018. It is thought that the one fol­low­ing that will be fin­ished by 2030.
