Rame has many dif­fer­ent mean­ings in French. It can mean a pad­dle or oar if row­ing or ca­noe­ing, a ream of pa­per ( rame de pa­pier) and train car­riage (e.g. rame de métro). In the fa­mil­iar sense, ne pas en faire une rame means to not do a stroke of work.
