The number of requests for French citizenship from Brits living in France tripled last year, according to interior ministry figures. Le Monde newspaper revealed that applications for citizenship rose from 385 to 1,363 in 2016, an increase of 254%. Although the surge in applications reflects concerns about being able to live in France following Brexit, the number of requests is not that high when compared to the number of Britons living in France. Figures for this year have not yet been released but they are expected to rise even further.
