French postal service company La Poste is now delivering parcels on Sundays. The company’s decision to deliver on the seventh day follows a year-long trial period in partnership with e-commerce website Cdiscount, delivering goods across large cities at peak times such as the Christmas period. The decision to add an extra delivery day is in response to the rapid growth in online shopping in France, which is now worth €72 billion. The online retail market has grown by almost 15% since 2015 with over 80% of internet users said to shop online. The service is reserved for goods that people have ordered from companies and does not extend to parcels from other consumers.
