Off to a running start

Living France - - What’s New -

My running routine has fallen a little by the wayside recently; a winter of oversized jumpers and cosy nights in watching Netflix proved much more tempting than the treadmill. But if there’s one prospect that will get me back into training, it’s surely a run in my favourite city, Paris. Taking place on 8 April, the Marathon de Paris starts at the Arc de Triomphe and takes runners past the city’s most iconic sites including Place de la Bastille, NotreDame and the Eiffel Tower. If that’s not enough to keep me motivated, I’m sure the crowd of 57,000 runners (23,000 travel to the capital especially) will keep me going. And of course, there’s always the cool-down stroll around Paris’s Sunday markets and the glass of wine at the end. Registration costs €199. schneiderelectricparismarathon.com
