E-commerce partnership between Carrefour and Google
France’s largest food retailer Carrefour has announced that it is teaming up with Google to boost its online shopping business. From 2019, customers will be able to order Carrefour groceries through Google’s new French shopping site or by dictating their shopping lists to Google Assistant on their Android smart phones or Google Home speakers. Google isn’t the only internet giant attempting to break into the French retail market. In March Monoprix became the first French retailer to agree to sell its products on Amazon, and Casino has a home delivery partnership with Ocado.
