A Taste for Vengeance by Martin Walker Bruno, chief of police of the whole Vézère valley, is teaching at his friend Pamela’s cookery school. When one of the tourists who was due to attend the cooking course doesn’t arrive, Bruno is called to investigate. The pupil is eventually found dead, along with an unknown man covered in battle scars and with a fake passport. Bruno quickly realises that the man had a number of enemies, any of whom could have committed the murder. As the mystery unfolds, it appears more murders are intended and Bruno must undertake the largest manhunt the small town of St Denis has ever seen. In the latest instalment of this mystery series, Martin Walker explores France’s medieval past and brings the delightful Dordogne countryside to life.
