Every second year, Lyon is overtaken by toe tapping, pirouetting, hip circling dancers from around the globe for The Dance Biennial. There are more than 200 performances in a variety of dance styles across 67 theatres and venues large and small. If you feel the urge to join in with the dancing there are workshops taking place during the festival, and many of the choreographers will be doing Q&A sessions so you can find out what inspires their creations. If you need a big spectacle to entice you to the dance side, the biggest choreographic parade in Europe, a Parade for Peace, takes place on 16 September, from Rue De La République and ending in Place Bellecour. The festival runs from 11-30 September. biennalede
