FI­NAN­CIAL ser­vices worker Jamil Khammu and his friend and work col­league Ma­hom­mad Al-Sabti, both 31, re­cently bought a twobed­room flat at Bar­ratt Lon­don’s Nine Elms Point scheme in Vaux­hall.

Jamil says liv­ing at Nine Elms Point im­proves his work/life bal­ance. “Due to my long work­ing hours, the fa­cil­i­ties were def­i­nitely a fac­tor when choos­ing the de­vel­op­ment,” he says. “I can use the gym 24 hours a day and the cin­ema and din­ing rooms are great for en­ter­tain­ing.

“The 24-hour concierge is amaz­ing. When I had beds de­liv­ered while I was at work, the staff were happy to ac­cept de­liv­ery and hold them out the back. I’ve even given them keys and other items to pass on to peo­ple and it’s all very se­cure.”

In Zone 1, the scheme is a 20-minute walk from Jamil’s and Mo’s of­fice across Vaux­hall Bridge Road. The Northern line ex­ten­sion will bring two new lo­cal Tube sta­tions, while Nine Elms sta­tion will open right next door in 2020. Vaux­hall Tube is a five-minute walk away, with links to Vic­to­ria in three min­utes, Eus­ton in 10 min­utes and St Pan­cras in 11 min­utes. Vaux­hall and Water­loo main­line sta­tions are close, with trains to the South and South-West. Heathrow, Gatwick and Lon­don City air­ports are all less than an hour away.
