When did you first go on stage? I’m a war baby so I was evacuated to Blackpool where I went to dancing school and started tap and singing lessons. I was always a little show-off even when I was seven. What was your favourite music to dance to? As soon as something by Frank Sinatra came on, I would lose all inhibitions. Most girls my age lost their virginity to Frank Sinatra’s ‘You Make Me Feel So Young’.
