There is no evidence that this was a stranger abduction
Huskins received a call from Denise herself. ‘She wasn’t crying at all,’ he said, sounding relieved. ‘She just said: “Daddy, I’m OK.”’ He explained that Denise had told him that she had been dropped off at her mother’s house in Huntington Beach, 420 miles from her home. When no one answered the door, she said she had walked 12 blocks to his house, where a neighbour found her and called 911.
The search was called off and the small town of Vallejo was able to breathe a sigh of relief. Or so they thought. On what should have been a day of celebration, things took a dramatic turn when the police suddenly released this statement: ‘Today, there is no evidence to support
