It’s hard to go from best friends on a night out to col­league dur­ing the day. It means you’re al­ways talk­ing about the job in­stead of any­thing per­sonal. J: the lines be­tween work and play are blurred th­ese days, so it can be hard. Per­sia and i al­ways end up talk­ing about work, so we have to set rules and re­mind each other: ‘tonight’s not about work, it’s about be­ing friends.’ P: re­cently, we’ve had to make mate dates where we ban any chat about work. in­stead, we do some­thing in­ter­ac­tive like go­ing to a gig. We take it in turns and do it once a month, and i’d re­ally rec­om­mend it.
