Test Factor

We tried these beauties so you can highlight your best bits. Oh, and they’re all less than a fiver. You. Are. Welcome

MUA Luxe Highlight Shimmer in Light Gold

Lookʼs Lydia: This highlighter is so affordable, especially considering the pigmentation and sheen it gives when you blend it in. It makes skin look really expensive. Carly: Apparently Khloé Kardashian is a massive fan of this highlighter, so I was superexcited to use it before a night out. It worked well against my base and looked cool in selfies.

Barry M Radiant Rod Highlighter

Lookʼs Lydia: This takes a little more buffing but gives amazing results. You don’t need that Snapchat filter if you team it with the rest of your make-up. It also created a sheeny SS16 lid when I used it instead of an eyeshadow. Carly: I liked this because it felt light on the skin. I had to apply a few layers to see the shimmeryness, but it was worth it.

Collection Speedy Highlighter in Pearl Sheen

Lookʼs Lydia: This was the lightest in colour but still very pretty. It worked really well when I layered a powder highlighter over the top, giving a more defined finish. Carly: This was nice, but I like my highlighters to be more sheeny. I’ll be recommending it to friends who wear very natural make-up, though – it’d be perfect for them.

LA Girl Velvet Hi-lite Contour Stick in Cashmere

Lookʼs Lydia: The product glided over my cheeks like a dream , leaving a sheen that caught the light whenever I moved my head. I wore it on a date with my boy and even he commented on my complexion! Carly: Loved this. I patted the shimmer in a little with my fingers to make sure it was blended and enjoyed the compliments I got when wearing it.
