Amazing Skin Can Make You Feel So Confident
On the quest for your best skin ever? We caught up with one of the UK’S top beauty bloggers to find out her top tried-and-tested beauty rituals
The secret to great skin is… Keeping your beauty regime supersimple, with only a few products that can pack a serious punch. Cetaphil is my daily two-step cleanse and moisturise routine that always leaves my skin feeling clean and fresh without a hint of dryness. My friends and I are obsessed with… Drinking lots of water – at least two litres a day. I drink a pint of water with a squeeze of fresh lemon juice first thing when I wake up, and I also love herbal tea for when it’s a bit chilly. My best beauty tip is… Always, always, always moisturise before applying foundation! And make sure you use a good moisturiser. It really helps to make your base look more even, plus it’s less likely to dry out and look cakey later in the day. My diet consists of… Eating a plant-based, wholefood diet, and I’ve noticed that it’s really helped my skin improve. Simple wholefood meals that I’ve prepared myself totally take away the temptation of snacking on junk and sugary snacks that don’t agree with my skin. I also think cutting out dairy is one of the best skincare-related things you can do! I know so many people who have reduced their dairy intake and their skin has totally cleared up. My celeb skin inspiration is… Anyone who isn’t afraid to go out without make-up on. I think it shows how we all have flaws and no one is perfect. Saying that, I think Kylie Jenner has beautiful skin. Even without make-up, it looks so fresh and clean! My top beauty recommendation is... It’s got to be Cetaphil. So many people were raving about it before it even became available in the UK so I was really eager to try it out when it first came here. The oldest beauty trick that really works is… To use a cold spoon to soothe and de-puff tired eyes. It’s one of the oldest beauty tricks in the book but it really works! Amazing skin can make you… Feel so confident. I used to suffer from breakouts and would smother my skin in layers of foundation. Now I wear nothing at all or a light-weight base and I feel so liberated.
