Thought Stranger Things was the only show shaping your style? Think again. Forget Netflix and chill – it’s all about Netflix and (dress to) thrill

Look (UK) - - FIRST LOOK -

1 The Get Down

THE STARS: Newcomer Justice Smith and teen superstar Jaden Smith.

THE SPEC: Set in 70s New York, it’s the ‘mythic saga of how NY gave birth to hip-hop, punk and disco – as told through the lives and music of the South Bronx teenagers who changed the city and the world… forever.’

THE LOOK: 70s swagger. Don’t think this is all about the boys; the female characters have some cracking costumes – all high-waisted denim skirts, metallic disco dresses and, of course, flares.

2 Gilmore Girls: a year In the life

THE STARS: Rory and Lorelai (AKA Alexis Bledel and Lauren Graham). Obviously. Oh, and Melissa Mccarthy.

THE SPEC: Released on 25 November (set your alarms), the four new 90minute episodes mark the most highly anticipated comeback since, er, Britney.

THE LOOK: Knitwear. Lots of knitwear. Some of it novelty. Also: wrap dresses, ironic slogan tees, bandanas and floral silk kimonos (see: Emily Gilmore. Kween).

3 The Crown (Season 1)

The STARS: Claire Foy and Matt Smith.

The Spec: The most expensive Netflix drama ever made (the budget was a cool £100m) and the first ever to be produced in the UK, The Crown follows the life of Queen Elizabeth II from her wedding day in 1947 to the present day.

The Look: Off-duty regal. Think pleated skirts, prim blouses and pearl adornments (obviously). You could try the on-duty look, but it would require a lot of taffeta…
