What a difference a season makes. After splitting with husband Professor Green and publicly moving on with former boyfriend Hugo Taylor in just six months, Millie Mackintosh is ready to commit…

It’s no secret that Millie Mackintosh is style. She’s launched her own fashion range, published her own style book and it’s not London Fashion Week without Millie sitting on the FROW. It’s been six months since Look was hanging out with Millie at Fashion Week. Then we noticed she’d lost her signature glow, refusing photos and sticking closely to her best friends. That wasn’t our Millie. Only days later when they announced their split did it transpire she was grieving for the breakdown of her marriage to rapper Professor Green.

But just one season on, 27-year-old Millie is beaming like never before thanks to new man (and former Made In Chelsea-era boyfriend) Hugo Taylor, 30, and now she’s ready for marriage once again.

‘After her relationship with Pro went sour Millie thought she’d be single for a long time,’ says a friend. ‘So to fall back into the arms of Hugo was a big thing for her. It was also the best thing because it healed her heart. She feels absolutely blessed to have gone from feeling so low to being so happy, almost overnight. It’s convinced her that she and Hugo are meant to be together forever.’

Millie and Pro Green, AKA Stephen Manderson, 32, announced the end of their two-year marriage on 21 February – slap bang in the middle of LFW – by releasing a joint statement: ‘It is with sadness and regret that we confirm our separation. It is a mutual decision, we still care deeply about each other and would like it to be known it is on amicable terms and we wish each other well.’

The world waited with baited breath, expecting Pro Green to step out with a new woman. So when it was revealed that Millie was the one who’d moved on swiftly – she was spotted kissing Hugo at a mutual friend’s wedding – there were more than a few raised eyebrows. Now she never wants to let him go.

At another friend’s idyllic wedding last weekend, Millie dashed to catch the bride’s bouquet, which looked like a laugh, but according to friends is very representative of how she’s feeling – she wants a proposal.

‘Millie felt she had unfinished business with Hugo,’ says our source. ‘She doesn’t want to let her second chance with him slip between her fingers. Her friends have known for a while that she’s keen on remarrying, but it’s only recently that she’s been dropping heavy hints to him.’ Millie and Hugo had a six-month onscreen romance in MIC back in 2011. They split on the show after discovering they’d both cheated. But after the split, Millie admitted Hugo still gave her ‘butterflies’, saying: ‘Those feelings don’t go… I do think, for the rest of my life, every time I see him, I’ll get that feeling in my stomach. I don’t think I could ever not get that butterfly feeling.’

And lo and behold, five years later (and five weeks after her split from Pro Green), Hugo and Millie started hanging out more. They were spotted getting cosy together at the British Polo Day in Dubai in March, and on 3 April they were snapped arriving at her posh pad together, with reports claiming Hugo didn’t leave until the following morning.

Millie’s a stickler for following her heart – she got married to Pro Green just six months after her engagement – so her friends are understandably slightly concerned that it might be too soon. Not that Millie cares.

‘People will say she’s making the same mistake by rushing into marriage, but Millie couldn’t disagree more,’ a friend tells us. ‘She’s known Hugo for years – he’s her soul mate. Nobody has ever made her feel the way he does and she’s convinced nobody ever will. Nothing would make her happier than a proposal from him. It would give her the chance to erase all the bad memories and “do it properly”. He’s the man she wants to have children with and that tells you everything.’

Going by what Millie’s previously revealed about plans to start a family, kids could well be on the cards. ‘I’d like to have children by the time I’m 30,’ she said. ‘My mum was 26 when I was born – I think it’s good to be a young mum.’

Over the last six months Millie’s been through a lot. While her split from Pro Green was initially amicable, things turned bad when Pro tweeted: ‘Money really can’t buy you class can it,’ after he saw Millie packing on the PDAS with Hugo in Monaco – just days after their divorce was finalised.

‘This relationship is totally different from the way things were with Pro,’ adds a close pal. ‘Hugo puts no pressure on her. He finds her funny and inspiring, and makes her feel good about herself. He’s always made Millie feel great, with little gifts and compliments.’

But while Millie’s laying the foundation for a future of wedded bliss, Hugo’s pals say he’s not quite ready to settle down. ‘He’s happy to get back with Millie, but he looks at Spencer [Matthews] living the high life and is still worried about being tied down in his prime,’ a friend says.

So if Millie want’s to be the future Mrs Taylor, she’s going to have to slow things down a bit. Nothing a few Don’t Tell The Bride episodes won’t solve!
