GUCCI: The Sequel
We bang on about Gucci a lot at Look, even debating giving the word ‘Gucci’ ‘Voldemort status’ a few weeks back so often do we drop the double G.
Then Milan Fashion Week happened and, FASH BANG WALLOP, Gucci is all we can talk about. Again.
Gucci’s creative director Alessandro Michele had big boots to fill for his SS17 show. Namely, his own – for never before has one person dictated so many global trends at one time. High street to celeb, fashion editor to Insta-feed – if it’s ruffled, cuffed or encrusted, it’s Gucci. If it’s a horsebit loafer? GUCCI.
But the best bit? Gucci: The Sequel isn’t all that far removed from Gucci now. Meaning anything you buy this very second will see you sashaying smugly into SS17, too. Do update your look with the new motif (pine cone). Treat yourself to the loafers (at last). Sling on a pair of sequin leggings! A corsage! A beret! Then slap your thigh and call yourself Disco Nan!
Because Gucci’s Gucciest show yet has future-proofed all of our wardrobes, freeing us from any retail remorse for the foreseeable (and making fashion real fun).
Thanks, Gucci. And by that, we mean, thank you, high street, for following suit…
