The comeback queens
It’s no secret that fashion can be cyclical, and right now the biz is going crazy for all things #throwback. Fresh off the Paris SS17 catwalk were the shoes of dreams, courtesy of Saint Laurent. Newbie creative director Anthony Vaccarello revived the iconic ‘Yves’, which his predecessor Hedi Slimane dashed during his four-year tenure at the label. It’s further proof that branded logos are seriously a go-go (case in point: Gucci belt overload on Insta).
And it’s not just outfit classics having a moment – Gigi Hadid closed Bottega Veneta’s sublime show with legendary model Lauren Hutton, bringing together two generations of supers. Emosh doesn’t even cut it. Meanwhile, just when we thought we’d resurrected every 90s trend we could, Alexa Chung put yin and yang jewels back on the fashion map thanks to the knuckleduster she hasn’t taken off for two weeks straight. Don’t tell Alexa, but you can snap up your own yin and yang bling on ASOS for next to nowt.
While we’re on the subject of comebacks, can we just flag that SJP has hinted AGAIN about an SATC reform… Seriously Sar, you’re killing us! Luckily for us, the most anticipated film of modern times, The Girl On The Train, has finally hit the big screen. But before you see it, make sure you check out our 20-page GOTT guide to get clued up on all the need-to-know info. So enough from me – I’m off to shop the sales and it’s time you looked at the serious bargains on p28 too!
